Michael Lapiña began his professional career in 1988 performing in musicals and touring extensively in Australia and Asia. He has been engaged with many of Australia’s leading opera houses to perform some of the most coveted tenor roles in the operatic repertoire. A versatile tenor, Michael is regularly engaged as soloist on the concert, corporate, chamber and oratorio stages. He is also a great supporter of the community, performing and directing several fundraising concerts for Rotary International and the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
He juggles his professional opera career with being the Performing Arts Director at Saltwater P-9 College in Point Cook, and is the current President of the Rotary Club of Wyndham in Australia. His Rotary career has seen him hold several District Leadership roles, including Team Leader of the Group Vocational Exchange to the Philippines in 2017, Artistic Director of the District Conference in 2017 and 2019, Artistic Consultant for the Next Generation Service Exchange, and this year he is Assistant Governor of District 9800 Westside Cluster.
